Covidien Sales Training

Covidien (Tyco Healthcare) is a large global healthcare company and is active in more than 130 countries worldwide with an expanding presence in emerging markets around the world.

Objectives

• Develop a custom e-learning application that can be installed on the users' local computer without the need for an internet connection.
• Integrate several multiple-choice questionnaires throughtout the e-learning modules to test what students have learned so far.
• Develop a custom LMS system to monitor what users are doing in the e-learning application.

Results

• The Covidien e-learning application is a Flex application built on top of the Adobe AIR runtime and combines Flex, Flash, HTML and Javascript in a desktop application. Because of the synchronisation features of AIR we can push content and application updates to the users' desktop.
• The content and features can be updated automatically, without bothering the user. Covidien is also using a custom LMS where all user activities can be monitored.
